Peter Denison was commissioned from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, into the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment. He resigned his commission in the rank of Captain in order to commence training as a probation officer: he remained in the Probation Service for thirty-seven years. After becoming a Christian in 1974, he was involved in various Christian offender rehabilitation related charities, including the Probation Service Christian Fellowship (National Chairman), Prison Fellowship (South East England Coordinator) and Stepping Stones Trust (SST Chairman for twenty-eight years), receiving an OBE for his work in SST. He has a passionate interest in seeing the Lord at work in the lives of prisoners. Married for fifty-two years, he and his wife live in West Sussex.
