We work together with schools and charities to ensure our book donations have the greatest positive impact. We regularly donate books to schools, take part in sponsored charity days such as World Water day or Mental Health awareness week, where we aim to use the book’s positive message to inspire people.
Many of our books donate a percentage to certain charities such as MIND. And we make a conscious effort to regularly donate to reading charities that help children in Africa, local schools, libraries and hospitals. As well as general charities we feel need some attention.
We also donate one book to charity for every book sold on our website. We choose to do this as our way to give back and hopefully encourage other companies to do the same. If you want to keep track of the charities we donate to and work with, follow us on our social medias for regular updates.
Equality and diversity are at the core of our culture and this is reflected in our diverse workforce and in the wide range of books that we publish which reflect various opinions and topics. Our workforce is diverse in gender, age, sexuality and ethnicity and each member has their story which makes the Olympia family even more united and beautiful.
We are very proud and respectful of all our members.
We encourage regular breaks throughout the work day, walks around the area to stretch the legs and keep the eyes away from a computer screen for long length of time.
Every year, our team selects a charity close to our hearts. Throughout the year, we hold regular fundraisers, both in and outside the office and encourage our audience to also get involved.
In 2022 our chosen charity is MIND - they provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
We’re also incredibly proud of our initiative
#RandomActOfKindness
We regularly listen to our audience and keep an eye out every day to see who needs that random act of kindness. Our random act of kindness can be seen in various forms - it could be a donation to a charity, a big box of kids books sent to a children’s hospital or school or a random book giveaway to brighten up one of our follower’s day on social media! The sky is the limit with kindness, and we love giving back.
We encourage you to give your daily dose of kindness to someone who needs it, it’s our responsibility to help those who may just need cheering up.
So show you care however and whenever you can!
Our authors are situated all over the world, we would never judge a manuscript by the authors gender, sexuality, age, location or ethnicity and never have. Different stories and opinions continue to shape our literary world.
One kind of judgment that is not spoken about very often in the publishing industry is judging first time authors. Many publishing houses will not consider first time authors unless they are either approached by an agent who represent them or have come through a trusted recommendation. We specialise in embracing new authors and never judge an author on their past work. We offer publishing contracts based on the work we see; not how many times the author has been published or rejected.
We take pride in our rich collection of talented authors and treat every author with the same respect.
