Tucked away in a quiet suburb of West London, Café El Paradiso feels like the heart of the neighbourhood. Customers crave for its home-from-home comforts and café culture. Behind the warm chatter though and scent of fresh coffee, the café hides a darker secret: owner Pepe’s brother-in-law, Ricky, uses the place as cover for a smuggling network that reaches far beyond London. When an undercover CIA agent – masquerading as a struggling American writer – slips into this world, he finds that the shipments of ‘Guatemalan tea’ are more dangerous than they appear. As tensions rise and protests over surveillance ignite outside the café’s doors, friendships fray, and ordinary customers are drawn into an unforeseen web of secrets. From Mexico’s sunlit shores to a West London hilltop café, the fight for truth builds toward a reckoning that could destroy not only Ricky’s empire, but the very community that made El Paradiso feel like home.
