Jack Tucker is a retired American diplomat who served as a reporting officer at US embassies in El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and Israel, as well as the Sinai peacekeeping force in Egypt, the US Consulate in Yekaterinburg, Russia, and the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) in Ukraine. He has written a guidebook to the Dominican Republic, two guidebooks to ancient sites in Turkey, and a book of fictional short stories, Tales of the Foreign Service. He and his German wife, Ursula, divide their time between Maryland, USA, and Marbella, Spain.
