Ex-con George Pchelski's desire for revenge triggers a sequence of events he could never have imagined. Unbeknown to him, his stunning, wealthy, materialistic lover, Charlotte, has her own plan to take revenge on her profligate husband. But it all goes horribly wrong. A series of burglaries in a wealthy Suffolk village and a body in a hot tub is just the beginning for the notoriously sharp DCI LeFanu. Every twist and turn of the investigation takes him deeper into a world of misdirection and untruths whilst the body count rises inexorably. And the dead cannot answer his questions. Against a background of blackmail, fraud, sexual exploitation and the jet-set lifestyle of the rich, and with the action moving from rural England to London, France, the USA and Switzerland, LeFanu and his team become entangled in a web of deception and lies. Is anyone what they seem?
