At thirteen, Callie learnt what fear really meant. Trapped in a home ruled by an abusive stepfather, she watched her mother break under the cruel abuse. Catastrophe unfolded when her mother attempted to escape the relationship. In the aftermath, Callie is left psychologically scarred and torn away from her siblings—each adopted into separate families, their bond severed by trauma and distance.

Twenty-three years later, Callie returns to her home country with a new name and a single obsession: the man who destroyed her childhood must pay. Her stepfather has survived by deception, drifting across borders under false names and stolen identities. Tracking him means navigating lies, buried memories, and the darkness she has carried with her since childhood.

As she starts her journey, the question is no longer whether she and her helpers can find him—but what it will cost, if revenge has become her only purpose. She may be forced to confront an undeniable truth—demanding justice and seeking vengeance are very different ambitions.
