John Arnason Morgan is a political scientist with a youth background in activism. As a student, he helped to found Canada’s first anti-racist movement, the first rape crisis centre, and the teaching assistants’ union. His specialisations are political philosophy and multinational communities. He taught political philosophy at the University of Toronto and comparative politics at the University of Calgary. He published a master’s thesis on self-management at the University of Waterloo in 1980 and a doctoral thesis, called Dialectical Political System, in 1988 on the crisis in the former Yugoslavia at the University of Toronto. He published an article in the journal Dianoia called ‘Glasnost, Civil Society, and the Socialist Project for a Human Society’, in 1991.
