Growing up as the daughter of a diplomat and educated at boarding school, Spit has led a relatively sheltered life until heading to university. She becomes fascinated with photographing the people of Plymouth, documenting poverty and in particular the lives of the city's sex workers. It is this which leads Spit to Suzy, and into an unconventional friendship and love which will irreparably alter her life.
Spit and Suzy is a story of love, life, sex and danger. The two women must fight at every turn to stay together, from constantly moving to escape the threat from Suzy's criminal family to tense sexual jealousy and trying to navigate a polyamorous relationship. Can the pair remain inseparable, or will death be able to finally tear them apart?
