In our third edition, we'd like to introduce Ana Silva, author of Twisted Ambitions.

What is your name and what book have you written?

My name is Ana Silva and my book is Twisted Ambitions.

How long did you take to write it?

It took me between six to seven months.

Which genre best describes your book?

My book is a romance that is stepping into the dark romance world.

Who is the first person you have gifted a copy of your printed book to?

Oh, that's easy! The first person that I give a copy to was my mum. My mum is my biggest supporter and kind of my biggest fan – obviously - so yeah, definitely my mum. I think she will get first of every book that I ever write!

What is your earliest reading memory?

My aunt, reading non-stop - because I asked it obviously - Beauty and the Beast, in my grandma's house.

What book was your favourite as a child?

Beauty and the Beast.

Which book is your current favourite?

The current favourite changes a lot but my all-time favourite is The Great Gatsby. It's a very important book for me; it helped me in a very dark moment of my life. So, yeah, The Great Gatsby.

How quickly can you finish reading a book?

If I'm completely in love with the book, the moment that I start reading, I would say two to three days but normally, maybe a week.

Do you prefer reading a book yourself or listening to an audiobook?

Definitely reading myself but lately, I have started to listen to audiobooks while I'm working and it's cool, but I still prefer reading myself.

Who is your favourite author?

Okay, that's a really hard question. I'll say to you the three authors that I'm always excited to see a new book from: Cora Reilly, Rina Kent and Elle Kennedy.

Which book took you the longest to finish?

I would say Women by Charles Bukowski. I really love his writing and his books, but I just didn't connect with his story, so it took me a while to finish.

Are there any books which have inspired your writing?

I would say The Camorra Chronicles by Cora Reilly. This series is actually one of my favourites of hers, so I would say that.

What book is at the top of your reading pile?

Okay, this one is a bit random, but I would say The Art of War. I've been trying to pick him up at some point, but I never end up reading it. There's always another book that I want to read!

Which book do you think everyone would enjoy?

Definitely, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. It's an amazing book.

How many books have you read so far this year?

That's a tricky question. I'm not sure. I read quite a lot, literally everywhere, so I would say between 10 to 20 - maybe, something like that.

Why should people read your book next?

Twisted Ambitions is actually a very, very important project for me. It's my first book being published and it's literally a dream come true. I hope that when you read it, you just fall in love with the characters in the story as much as I did when I was writing it. Hopefully, you can dive so deep into the story, that even for an hour or two, when you read it, you can forget everything around you and just enjoy the ride!
