Mark Colhoun is from County Down in Northern Ireland. Over the course of his career, he has worked across several industries, including as an entrepreneur and somewhat conversely, in law enforcement. Given that background, it is perhaps no surprise that his first book is a crime thriller. Drawing on his knowledge of investigative practices and procedures, Mark has crafted a story that, while entirely fictional, is grounded in authentic detail—offering readers a gripping yet credible adventure.
The book is set in two of Mark’s favourite locations in the UK, places that are as contrasting as his own career paths: London and the Outer Hebrides. On one hand is London, the vibrant, fast-paced capital; on the other is the remote and breathtaking Western Isles off Scotland’s rugged coast. Together, they provide a striking contrast between metropolitan energy and wild natural beauty, both of which Mark has captured as a landscape photographer, another string to his bow.
The genesis of this first book was simple and one that many have sought to create, both criminals and writers – how would you pull off a totally perfect crime?
