Love, loss, and longing bleed through these verses - ghosts of desire, betrayal and fate. Each poem lingers like a whisper in the dark, where memories haunt and hearts never heal.

Charles F J Horne

Charles F. J. Horne was born on 2nd November 1995 in London, England. He attended Archdeacon Primary School and Orleans Park Secondary School, where he showed a strong interest in history, geography, and sports. Although his formal education came to an abrupt end when he was expelled during his final year and left without qualifications, these early experiences would later inform his reflective and authentic voice as a writer.
At the age of sixteen, Horne began working alongside his father in the brick restoration trade. Two years later, at eighteen, he was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment at Feltham Young Offender Institution — an experience that would profoundly shape his perspective on life and human resilience.
During a subsequent period of treatment for manic depressive disorder at a psychiatric hospital in Roehampton, Horne began writing poetry for the first time. What started as a form of personal expression soon revealed itself as a natural and powerful means of communication. Horne is a member of the Teddington society, and also enjoys horse racing, in 2025 Horne created a philosophy group called ‘ conspiracy corner ‘. In 2009 Horne was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome.
