Jane Van Helsing is a vampire, from a long line of vampires - and proud of it.
With her lilac eyes and silver-white hair, Jane is destined to be noticed.

It falls to her aunt, the beautiful Heleen Van Scheltinga, to educate young Jane in the ways of vampires and men. But Jane is also a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing, from a long line of vampire hunters and she must learn for herself what a treacherous and bloody world she's been born into, and to distinguish friend from foe.

Against the background of a Europe torn apart by the second World War, the author expertly weaves creatures of literary fantasy into historical fact to create a compelling, and believable, alternative reality in which vampires are hidden in plain sight; whether their intentions be good or evil.
And how can you tell?

Jacob Van Helsing

A science graduate, the author was awarded a PhD for work in the area of chemotherapy and spent his career in medical and pharmaceutical research, primarily in the area of cardiovascular disease; discovering an important and widely prescribed drug for the treatment of high blood pressure and angina. Latterly, he acted as consultant for biotech companies, working with them to balance the complex array of properties required to produce successful new medicines. Now living in rural Essex with his wife, Sara, and destructive kitten, Molly, he creates ‘gothic' curiosities in his shed; which he refers to as Objet D'ark.
