A science graduate, the author was awarded a PhD for work in the area of chemotherapy and spent his career in medical and pharmaceutical research, primarily in the area of cardiovascular disease; discovering an important and widely prescribed drug for the treatment of high blood pressure and angina. Now living in rural Essex with his wife, Sara, and destructive kitten, Molly, he creates ‘gothic' curiosities in his shed; which he refers to as Objet D'ark.
