Christopher Shaw provides a fascinating insight into the history and development of Castle Mill, Linby, Nottinghamshire over the course of five decades.
His family has been closely tied to the purchase of the buildings at Castle Mill from the Greater Nottingham Co-operative Society and personally involved in the development of sections of it.
Growing up at the Mill, Chris's perspective on its progressive development and maintenance through the years reveals much about the respective times and the nation's attempts to aid in the preservation of historic buildings.

Filled with humorous anecdotes over the underlying gravity of the situations, supported by photos, drawings and plans, One Cuts and the Other... Castle Mill 1949 to 1997 is sure to appeal to those with an interest in history, architecture or even to those with a passing curiosity on how times have changed and the buildings that have withstood the ravages of time.
