Caroline Henton

Caroline spent many years teaching, in particular focussing on reading skills and encouraging and enabling young people to engage with and enjoy books. With her life-long love of France and her involvement in World War commemorations as a piper, it was only a matter of time before she wrote her first book on this subject, placing it into a gentle context that children can understand and relate to. Caroline is mother to Victoria, Alexandra and Harriet and grandmother to Oliver. As well as a children's author, she now practises as a children's and young people's counsellor. Her hobbies include playing her bagpipes with an international pipe band, and following her favourite football team, Chelsea FC!

About Book

‘Now Thierry understood; man had always been able to deal with their own affairs, but this war was affecting the creatures of their land. The big ones were struggling; it was important that all the little creatures played their part.'

The war is raging and France is under great threat from the Boche. The soldiers are battling bravely but need some assistance. Enter, Antoine: ant commander. Using the cicadas' voices, he calls upon all the little creatures to come together and use each of their unique skills to create a formidable team. But can such small creatures really resist the march of the mighty Boche? And save their way of life?
