It is the year 870 A.D. Halfdan the Black is dead and young Harald is now king of Vestfold. Conflict and strife scourge the kingdoms of Norway and greedy warlords crave to feast over the legacy Halfdan has left. Harald, barely into adolescence, must prove he is strong enough to defend what is rightfully his. However, Harald's ambitions do not remain within the borders of his small kingdom. Engulfed by the love of a maiden and backed by his hearth warriors, he takes a vow to conquer all Norway to marry Gyda, princess of Hordaland. Perhaps her hand is not what he is really seeking. One thing is certain: Harald is committed to the unification of Norway. Opposed by Viking leaders and reckless rulers, Harald will embark on a journey towards immortality. Will he be remembered as one of Scandinavia's many ruthless kings, or as the father of a nation?
