Busby's poetry collection is an absurd, witty, and sometimes heartfelt random assortment of poetry.
Poems such as ‘Jiggery Topiary' and ‘The Encounter' display Busby's witty and bawdy humour as he links the mundane to the nonsensical, transforming everyday occurrences into ones bound in hilarity and farce. His creative use of language and rhyme is showcased in ‘Hashtag Nativity' - a twenty-first century twist on the Nativity of Jesus, in which a sat-nav guides the wise men to the stable. However, Busby's collection also wanders into themes of sentimentality and hope, such as ‘Mrs Mrs?' in which Busby transforms the heavy topic of dementia into something light-hearted yet still deeply profound.
As the title suggests, Busby haphazardly interweaves humour and sincerity, absurdity, and reality, to produce a merry and amusing collection of poetry which will keep you on your toes from beginning to end.

Busby is a semi-retired architectural salvage dealer and unretiring writer of comic monologues, pantomimes and poetry. He is also the librettist and performing half of the geriatric tribute duo "Minge and Fackett" with their pianist, Vladimir Q Wildebeeste. Beside many ribald performances and recitals, the author has amassed a catalogue in his own right, of monologues and musings. Born in Birmingham's Balti Belt before the Balti was invented, Busby has lived the last forty years of his life in a leafy Warwickshire Parish, on a permanent building-site. His passions include village rugby, tennis, history, flea-markets, beer. An avid pork-pie collector.
