Steve first began writing when his favourite author, the late David Gemmell, passed away suddenly. Gemmell’s words and characters had been a soft duvet throughout Steve’s childhood, filling his imagination with stories that have stayed with him ever since. His first novel was written as a thank?you to this much?missed great author.

A dad to two beautiful girls who love to dance—and, sadly, a man blessed with two left feet—Steve is not the ideal person to help them pursue their passions. What he can do is write, and he especially enjoys the research that goes into each of his books.

A busy man working in the predictable, calculated world of IT, Steve sees writing as his therapy, a way to escape the digital landscape he lives in every day. He considers himself blessed to be married to a very patient wife who gives him the time he needs to sit and type, often for hours on end. For this, he is eternally grateful. Writing helps him manage his mental health and state of mind, allowing him to step away just long enough to always find a reason to return.

Like most dads, providing for his family and striving for a good quality of life fills much of his time. He loves his life and wouldn’t change a thing. After self?publishing for about fifteen years, he finally thought, What the hell—let’s give proper publishing a go. He has already seen one book traditionally published, one of his proudest moments. He has around five other books that he’s been told are good stories, though he knows only a publisher can truly prove that.

Anyone who reads his books and says they enjoyed the story is the icing on the cake. And he also loves cake.
