This collection is in the form of a diary charting the second year after the sudden premature death of the poet's husband and follows directly on from a volume that tackled the immediate aftermath of his death through to the first anniversary. These poems show her continuing to change through the subsequent year, becoming more outgoing, developing her new identity further, and expanding her horizons. Therefore, this volume reflects a more optimistic view of her future whilst not ignoring the shock of his death, the magnitude of her loss, or the depth of her grief.

Teri started writing poetry at the age of ten. At seventeen she adopted the nom-de-plume of Teri O'Neal. She was an active writer and performer of her work through to her early thirties, at which point she met her husband and life-partner, and, for various reasons, virtually stopped writing. However, she always knew that it was still there and she would go back to it if he was no longer in her life. He died suddenly of a heart attack, their having been together for over forty years. Twelve days later she started writing again and continues to do so. Professionally, she worked as a corporate treasurer for over thirty years. She is also an artist (as Teri Walsh), working primarily in the medium of screen printing.
