After being raised by his aunts in Southern England, James Moore moved to Southern California where he worked as a prominent and successful scientist. But when James invented the Mind Link, he unearthed a dangerous secret leaving him and his wife, Helen, with no choice but to flee.

Moving back to the village of St. Clements in Devon, James reconnects with his aunts and childhood home. He begins to hope that the dangers of the past are over and, with the announcement of Helen's pregnancy, that the future is finally offering them some happiness.

But when James and his family are attacked in their home, he and Helen are on the run once more and the Collective - a group of deeply powerful, influential people - will stop at nothing to catch them.

When James and Helen are given an opportunity to join the Collective, they must choose between their future and the future of hundreds of thousands of others.

Nigel Cook

He authored sixteen textbooks and an editor asked if he had a novel in him. This unearthed a revelation... when a scientist restricted to science-fact is released to flirt into science-fiction, interesting things start to happen. His character needed a tech; he developed a solution that modelled too well, which led to a start-up, over fifty patents, and acquisition by a Fortune 500. He would live out many parts of The Guardian as if a future-echo came to call, and if his mind could be read, it would be impossible to distinguish what is his principal character James and what is Nigel.
