In bad times, hostile to humans and nature, barren and dystopian, the speech - a prey to temporariness and cheapness in the stock market of values, rationalized and stripped of inmost impulses and feelings, suffocates under the brutality and banality of the daily transaction, unable to be spiritually committed and eager to take its role of the transformation of reality.
The present anthology, a philosophical poetry par excellence, synthesizing lyricism and irrationality with cerebral speech and sentiment, includes 57 poems, first published in Greek, by IANOS Editions (2023). Using poetry as a means of escape from the dullness and wildness of everyday reality, that is often manifested itself "without beautiful movements of the soul", without road signs and "lighthouses in the night", Joannis N. Markopoulos aims at the transformation of reality, not to a virtual but to a fantastic worth experiencing world.
