Tom has been enjoying a nice comfortable life in Abu Dhabi, just on the retirement end of a not-so comfortable career, but he won't get into that. Although he's just starting to want a quiet life, Tom's specific expertise is called into action one last time - and he doesn't have much choice about it. When he is accosted by an unfriendly string of henchmen, a fascinating Italian woman, and a mysterious client, Tom is dragged along into a dangerous journey from the Middle East to his homeland of Scotland, protecting strangers and precious heirlooms, and fighting off attacks from every direction, all in the service of an enigmatic boss only known as "the German". In his own riotously honest, no-holds-barred style, Tom must defend his role in this high-stakes crime spree by recounting the entire thrilling adventure to the authorities. But in a world where no one can be trusted, who knows who's hiding around the corner to shoot him in the arm?
