Johanna Simmons is a registered clinical counsellor and supervisor as well as a British Columbia registered play therapist. She has dedicated most of her life to working with children; first as a teacher, and now as a therapist and adjunct faculty at a university, teaching on the topic of children's development and counselling. As a parenting enthusiast, she is passionate about building capacity in parents, therapists and non-clinical workers. The greatest influence on her learning has been in her hands-on role of parenting her two internationally adopted children, now grown and living their own lives. She lives, works, and plays on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish Nations of the Coast Salish People in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
