George Owen, author of ‘The Shadow of an Artist', was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and went to the University of New Hampshire. He now resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. During his varied career, he was a newspaper reporter for the Manchester Union Leader, the Lowell Sun, and the Florida Times-Union. An avid photographer, he has traveled to a number of countries in South America, Europe, and China, and has published a book of photographs, "Faces of Latin America." He often goes back to Paris, and since 1972, he has returned more than a dozen times.
