About Book

"You'll have Hartlands all to yourself, Polly, but you won't mind that, will you?"

Has Polly married a man or a manor?

Hartlands has withstood centuries and now it lies gathering dust, a home for Charles Carraway and his new young wife Polly. But Polly is not the first Mrs Carraway to grace the secretive mansion with its locked rooms and sprawling grounds.

When will Polly realise that all at Hartlands is not as it seems? That Charles Carraway has designs to make her a bird in a gilded cage?

She fell for Charles Carraway's aristocratic charm and married him just months later. Yet now Polly has only his loyal housekeeper and drinks collection for company.

Will her disappointment grow into depression or defiance? Will she ever be able to untangle the secrets that Hartlands keeps?
