David Ivory

David Ivory was born in Co. Wexford, Ireland in 1975, he lived in the town of Arklow in the neighbouring Co. Wicklow until the age of 11 when he immigrated with his family to London, England in 1987. David still lives in the UK and is now a father of two children, both of whom are the reason for him writing and illustrating this story.

With a lifelong passion for the visual arts, David has been drawing, painting and illustrating for as far back as he can remember and has achieved many accomplishments related to his art including public and corporate exhibitions and the completion of numerous private art commissions.

"As a family we have read hundreds of children's books, I had thought about writing and illustrating my own book for some years. In recent times it has become a regular bedtime treat for me to invent stories off of the top of my head and tell them to our kids at lights out. We call it ‘Stories from the imagination'. Sometimes I think, hey, I should write that down... Seamus O'Shea is one of those stories, I told it to my children and they loved it, so I got to work."
