About Book

A brilliant and well-researched historical biography covering the involvement of the French diplomat Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand in the political events both before, during and after the French Revolution, and his relationships with its leading personalities, particularly with Napoleon Bonaparte.

Intrigue and deceit, conspiracy and betrayal, bribery and venality, rivalry and flattery, opulence and gallantry are all fascinatingly described in exciting detail making this book of immediate interest for all those who pick it up.

Well thought-out and written in a lay-man's language, Talleyrand's story makes the dramatic events of the French Revolution and its aftermath come to life.
