Susan Blackbury is amazed on the day her dog, Patch, starts speaking to her after a game of ball in the park.
He tells her that he thinks their neighbour is keeping animals against their will in his house.
The two of them, along with Susan's brother Matthew, begin investigations of their own after their parents and the police refuse to take them seriously.
Will they get to the bottom of it? Or will Mr Jackson keep them away, or worse?
