    Daniel Barthold

    Daniel Barthold was born in 1983 in Hildesheim (Germany) and grew up in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. After graduating in International Management he received his M.Sc. in Sports Management in 2009 at Bond University (Australia).

    He has written many features about football but also covered ice hockey, handball and other sports in Germany and the United Kingdom. For nearly ten years Daniel Barthold worked for a sports betting consultancy in London where he resides since 2010.

    Travelling and association football are his main passion particularly for the German football club Sankt Pauli. Over the years, he started a quest to watch at least one football match in every European country and he is a keen sports traveller in North and South America with a great interest in rivalries
