    Maria Longo is a dedicated wife and mother. She was born in a small country town called Shepparton but was raised in the inner city of Melbourne, Australia. She successfully completed two children's writing courses because she often found it difficult to find any fun and interesting ABC books that kept her child engaged. That was what inspired her to come up with the idea of The Alphabears.
