Following an argument with his girlfriend, Tom heads to a late night bar to drown his sorrows and contemplate the future of their relationship. It's not long after that he attracts the attention of a charismatic stranger, Clint, who offers Tom a friendly ear with which to vent his frustration. After listening to his story, Clint explains in brutal detail how the balance of power has shifted in his girlfriend's favor. So mesmerised is Tom by this stranger's lucid explanation that he is quick to snap up the offer of a nightcap back at his apartment, but after Clint provokes an ugly scuffle with some men on the way, Tom tries to find an excuse to leave. It's all in vain though, for as Tom learns to his cost, you should probably think twice before seeking out comfort in the arms of strangers...

Obsessed with alienated anti-heroes, Jonathan first became hooked on literature after reading A Clockwork Orange as a teenager. When not writing, Jonathan likes to shred on his guitar, and conjugate irregular French verbs. His debut novella, Knight Cap, was inspired by a nightmare that befell him during a cold November night in 2018.
