The crime-ridden and economically unstable 2000s Osaka, Japan, was rather peaceful. More peaceful than to the liking of Higashi Police Station, a station within the Chuo Ward. Before Chief Ueno knew it, a large pile of reports which claimed a large fire-breathing man (known by the characters in the story as a 'kaiju') hit his own desk. In disbelief and amusement at its absurdity, he sends his trusted police detective, Detective Satori, to investigate.
Detective Satori believed this case to be true. So, Detective Satori decides to contact the newly formed hero vigilante Galaxy Boy to help save the day. Galaxy Boy ends up finding Tanuki Girl coming to his own darkened bedroom. She reveals to him that the fire-breathing kaiju is very powerful and very dangerous.
The two hero vigilantes then try to take on the city's new threat. Will they succeed in this partnership of theirs?
