The book contains subjects of modern realism including an environmentally friendly family of dinosaurs and fun characters such as James the sea lion from Africa, all wrapped in a  world of family-friendly escapism to highlight little Charlie's relationship with his Grangrad and their tall adventures.

    As a musician and songwriter Steve Mansfield was also a winner at the 2017 Hollywood Music & Media Awards held at the Avalon Theatre, Hollywood. As a recently qualified Grandad his grandson gave him the inspiration to write his first book 'Charlie & Grangrad's Tall Adventures;. Now semi-retired from 9-5 working as a company director in London and living in the deepest countryside of Essex, writing about life stories with a twist of exaggeration and fantasy makes writing such fun whether for music or for books.
