Jack Brogan

Jack Brogan is an Irish writer who lives in a small town sixty kilometres from Dublin. He writes about Celtic Mythology and Irish Folklore. Not long ago, a motorway was being constructed between two cities in the West of Ireland. It ground to a halt because the workers refused to cut down a fairy tree that grew along the proposed route. At great cost and delay, the motorway had to be diverted and rerouted. The workers had sense enough not to disturb the fairies. That incident inspired this book.

About Book

Brian lives with his parents on a large estate called Carrowmore, in Ireland. His parents are landlords.
Brian notices a part of their land is ‘unused' and has a tree in the middle of it. He is eager to know why he is always told to stay away from the tree and that part of the land.
No one in the village will go near the tree, and although Brian's father instructed workers to cut it down, no one would hear of it, let alone do it.
Brian takes it upon himself to cut down the tree, although he is warned to do so would not be wise. Will something happen to him? Or are the stories people are discussing really just that?
