Esmirna R. Pratt, author of Who is That Woman in the Mirror? She was born in the Dominican Republic and migrated to the USA in 1989 when she was still an adolescent. She learned English fluently and assimilated the American culture rather well meanwhile keeping the essence of her own culture and traditions. Life was not as she thought or dreamt it would be living in the USA; economic challenges of the time and adopting to a new way of life, was really difficult for her. She currently has a BSN degree and works as an RN caring for terminally ill patients.
