The wanton troopers riding by
Have shot my fawn and it will die
Can defeated Royalist, Hugh Malahide, reject the siren song of King Charles's lost cause, and survive?
Only armed by force of character and a charm-the-birds smile, he sets about seduction, burglary and defying Fate.
Another glorious romance from Lindsey Erith, a portrait painter in words.
"Lindsey Erith uses language as an art form both visually and
technically. Her composure is expressive, descriptive and quite
unique in style, demonstrating a great creative talent and leaving
us wishing for more!" EBW
"Lindsey Erith creates engaging and evolving characters inhabiting a
perfectly-realised evocation of the English Civil War period." Justin Hill, The Other Operation

Lindsey Erith was born in Reigate, survived a girls' public school and severe health problems before achieving a graphics diploma. Portrait work developed her interest in character and likeness. Writing is an escape from mobility restrictions, opening the window on a central character who the audience will wish to follow. Her life was transformed when her husband, record producer John Boyden, married her on Valentine's Day, discovered her novel and gave her the encouragement to submit it. It was accepted by the first publisher to see it, who also took her jacket design.
