The Vision is a compelling and moving love story about the unfolding lives of two people, Elizabeth and Charles, whose childhoods were devastated by tragedy, profound loss and abandonment. In the strong and emotional story-line, the impact of past generations on the main characters reverberates throughout their lives as they each struggle to finally discover lasting and loving relationships.
Charles and Elizabeth's adult lives are set in religious backgrounds during the late twentieth century. The themes of sadness and love, despair and hope are a part of both their life journeys, but are also portrayed through the state of the declining Church, struggling to survive in a rapidly changing modern society.
The Vision is a compulsory read for romance-lovers and people of faith concerned for the future in a secular world.

Mick Vincent

Mick was born in Warwickshire into a working-class Catholic family. (Un)educated at a Roman Catholic Secondary Modern whose curriculum centred around football and fighting! Somehow, he managed to escape to train as a teacher working in careers and pastoral education. After fifteen years he moved into ministry becoming a vicar in an ex-mining Urban Priority Area for twenty-four years. Never the traditional style cleric, Mick, together with the people, built up a thriving ‘community church'. Moving on from the C of E, he is now a member of the Rugby Meeting of Quakers. Mick is married to Anne with three children and eight grandchildren. The Vision is his debut novel.
