Land, tethered to the rocks
at the mercy of the beast.
What more sacrifices
does this downtrodden oracle require
for it to be saved
how many more lives must turn to stone
before the beast's hunger finds its end,
for the poor wretch to be saved
land, tethered to the rocks.
"I would have written down, if they were not already in the book, nine out of ten poems of this collection, which went up another step after the Kavafyian "first step" (her first poetry collection) and which consolidated my conviction that Zaloni will be our new Kiki Dimoula in a few years. Why? Because she already has her own linguistic stamp (or identity, if you prefer), with the difference that this identity is not plastic but steeped in the blood and beauty of herself and her generation." ~Vasilis Vasilikos, 2019'
