Arthur Smith is a middle-aged civil servant living in Croydon, married to Jill, and with two cats. Unbeknown to him, he has inherited a gene for time travel. The gene, whose name is Trevor, has been around since the beginnings of life on Earth, but his only previous expression has been in a mushroom. John Virgo Brown was born in west London in 1951. He completed his education at the University of Surrey, graduating with a degree in microbiology in 1973, and spent his working life in the food and dairy industries. He retired in 2013, and in a futile attempt to avoid getting under his wife's feet, took a course in creative writing. This is his first novel.
