The Clubs brings the early eighties of the New Romantic era and the start of the Thatcher years to life for young people of that time.

This is the story of me and my friends, my club, Bel, Jay, Jimmy, Joanne, Greg, Nicholas, Jo, Mandi, and Lyn. The clubs, the night walks, the drinks, the long conversations, our styles, sexual awakenings and experimentation. Pumped up on pills half of the week, music, books and films, oblivious to the world outside and turbulent times in the country. Quoting song lyrics, getting in culture references at every turn and feeling pleased with ourselves and above the high street crowd.

My name is Luke Halliday, and I was a blank until the clubs. This is where my life started and the electric overload of joy I found, knocked me off balance, but my life was up and running. This is a rites of passage tale on one level - a little off kilter - but is also a story about consequences, acceptance, and a strange sort of redemption in the end.
