Scruff, a black and white mongrel dog, was found in an animal rescue centre and was taken in by a family who loved and cared for him. From a poor start to life, he became a trustworthy dog and, in this story, saved the lives of two children on two different occasions, for which he received a specially embroidered dog coat. Follow his adventures, and subsequent ones, through the various stories about Scruff.

I have been a teacher for over fifty years, of which twenty nine were spent as headteacher of a large primary school. On my semi-retirement in 2003 I became a supply teacher, which I am still doing to this day. The stories I have written are based on those I made up and told to my grandchildren and the various children I have taught over the years. Lockdown has given me the opportunity to commit them to paper.
