Krakengait: The Road to Redemption

Victoria Prescott comes face to face with her own reality when she begins to read a historical fiction novel, entitled 'Krakengait'. The book is set in the latter part of the Nineteenth Century. It is named after a castle which is perched above the Tasman Blowhole in Tasmania, Australia. Lord Arthur lives there, a revered and respected nobleman of rank. On occasion, his Lord summons his subjects to attend magnificent banquets in the Great Hall. His final invitation surprises his guests as their futures are held to ransom by an offer each of them cannot refuse.

This book serves as a text to convey core convictions, reflecting the internal fight made by man between good and evil. 'Krakengait has been a place for those who, in passing the travails of life, have come face to face with heaven and hell,'  Mary whispered.

Jennie Warren

The author has worked as a primary teacher for most of her career, which began in the early 1970s in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia. She later moved to the outback settlements of the Northern Territory, settling eventually in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. During that time, Jennie focused on her teaching, academic writing, children's literature, and, more recently, historical narrative. Jennie is enthusiastic about teaching, her inspiration to write develops as she works with young children. She credits this experience as having shaped her interest in social history and the lived experience of the past. Her interest in memoir, history and philosophy becomes evident in her writing as her words contain stories about challenges and adversity.
