    Edwin Kairu was born and raised in rural Kenya. Growing up, he was fascinated by African stories and later took a keen interest in fantasy novels. As a lover of fantasy, he realised that there were very few African stories in the genre. It was then that he decided to write Kalanak Academy, an African fantasy novel. Kalanak Academy is Edwin Kairu's first book.
