My memoirs begin with several unhappy childhood incidents from which an eating disorder develops. I escape from my home by marrying an ambitious young bank clerk called Patrick but married life is not without its difficulties. I longed for a family and eventually had four boys who proved to be challenging and as I struggled to cope my anorexia hi-jacked me into another world. Having spent four years battling my illness, I discovered an ability to express myself through writing and undertook a lifelong ambition to become a nurse. Having gained confidence which empowered me to guide my beloved sons through more personal trauma and tragedies rendering heartache for myself and Patrick. But life deals another cruel blow when Patrick confesses his own demons. The various mental health issues explored are sadly not unique and have affected others. The elements of positivity written about may inspire others and give hope.
