Life is not stable. It is dichotomous, ever-changing. No one person can walk forever in the light any more than they can survive relentless darkness. It is a give-and-take, a ceaseless tango of joy and despair. In this moving, deeply personal anthology, the author explores this contrast, baring his very soul in a display of his most intimate emotions.

Favourite Profanity is a heartfelt, heartbreaking love letter to life itself. At its core, it tells a tale of relationships: relationships with family, loved ones, strangers, nature, and most importantly, the self, masterfully illustrating both the soaring highs and crushing lows. At once a light, joyful celebration of love of all kinds and a poignant testimony to survival in the face of the darkness that life sometimes has to offer us, this spellbinding volume is one that will stay with you long after you put it down.

Christiaan van Deventer

The author of this collection likes to describe himself while holding a glass of red wine, legs crossed at the knees as optimistic and light-hearted, perhaps too much at times. Innocent? Ha! Definitely amusing. Possibly demented.

But when the wine was no more and I found myself alone, I wrote this collection. I want to share with you a look into my most intimate emotions, hoping that one of my poems might mean as much to you as it does to me. I hope you find it lovely.
