In lockdown Aster Bell looked out of her window and found that the thing that most captured her imagination was the vibrant world of birds. She started to create artwork based on the birds she saw and posted them online; her artwork has been met with great admiration and has garnered her many fans of her work. And through her art she began to research birds and their behaviour too - like how Bullfinches are shy, Jays help to plant oak woodland and Puffins live out at sea for a lot of the year. Once she had gathered this information, she began writing a book, this book. This book is a labour of love that shines through in every word and every illustration. A not only interesting read, but a valuable one that informs us how we can help in the conservation of these wonderful birds.
