    Mariam Radi found herself in Iraq during the US invasion, her home in Baghdad reduced to rubble, compelling her to seek refuge in villages. Experiencing the war firsthand ignited her interest in public and international law, as well as the lives of the villagers who sheltered her during the bombardment. She pursued a Bachelor of Law and a Master's in Public and International Law. She embarked on writing a book at twenty-one to capture the intricacies of life in Iraq.
