The author has always loved reading and writing. Through books as a child, he saw a world beyond his small town that was closer in imagination than reality. It wasn't until at the age of nine when he visited in a summer one of his older sisters who had left home and lived in a few states over to the east, that his eyes opened wide to the possibility that he could step beyond the boundaries of known geography into what at first and for many years was unknown forbidden territory.
