Pragya Rai, MD a board-certifi ed pediatric pulmonologist was born in Kathmandu,
Nepal, a Himalayan country. Her early childhood recollections are of snow-capped
mountains surrounding the valley, whereas the visible bareback peaks now tell a
diff erent story. She is keenly interested in the intersection of climate and health and has
completed a Climate and Health Equity fellowship from the Medical Society Consortium.
She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of its Council
on Environmental Health and Climate Change. She lives in Spokane, Washington
with her family.
