Paul lives with his wife, Margaret (Mags), and son, Marc - now aged thirty-seven - and pets, Bronte, the dog, and Bonnie, the cat, in Lancashire, in the United Kingdom. His son, Marc, has been living with epilepsy since birth and was diagnosed with autism at twenty nine years of age. Paul wrote this book hoping it will raise awareness of some hidden disabilities among a wider audience, helping to make the world more inclusive and tolerant. He also hopes this will provide insight into what may lie ahead and help those who need it to realise that they are not alone.
